Fairies

The facts you crave...uncensored!

The Basics

In folklore, fairies are a race of humanoids with magical powers who live in another realm from which they occasionally emerge to interact with humans. This other realm has many names — in Celtic lore, the abode of the fairies is called, simply, Fairyland. Fairies can be big or small, unearthly or humanlike. The popular image of winged fairies emerged in Victorian times; the traditional folklore speaks of fairies without wings.
